Why Square Tubing instead of I-beam or C-channel? The square tube is an all round better material choice (although more expensive) for tiny-house trailer construction. I-beams are specifically designed to take vertical bending loads, they are not the best choice for torsional loads and are weaker in the horizontal plane. Square tubing has equal bending resistance in both the x-y planes when subjected to torsional loading such as a tiny-house trailer, making it the best choice. The only time to choose I-beam/C-channel over square tubing is if you’re trying to build the trailer a cheaply as possible.
Because every house is unique, we can accommodate any custom option you may require for your tiny house build. Do you need extra brackets, additional supports, whatever it is, we’ll work with you to make sure it just right.
